Benjamin RWS Crow
B: 1756 ∙ Wilmington, New Castle, Delaware, USA D: Age 78, 1834 ∙ Okolona, Clark, Arkansas, USA
Benjamin Crow is our Revolutionary War patriot ancestor. His life was similar to Daniel Boone's. He was born in New Castle, Delaware. They both drove supply wagons during the American Revolution, did not like cities, and traveled west to live in the wilderness. Both Benjamin and Daniel were cheated by the government. Daniel was promised land, then it was taken away. Benjamin fought in the American Revolution and was denied a pension. Benjamin lived in Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri and Arkansas. Daniel lived in Virginia, settled Boonesboro in Kentucky, then retired in Missouri.
You can join the Daughters of the American Revolution or the Sons of the American Revolution with Benjamin as your patriot ancestor. Our cousin, Helen Hughes, did all the documentation to join. You would just need to provide birth certificate of yourself, Ferris related parent, and grandparent to link to Ada Spear Ferris. If you're married, you also provide a copy of your marriage certificate so your children can join later.
